Stablecoins and Tokenisation of RealWorld Assets Building the Next Layer of Financial Infrastructure

Stablecoins and the tokenisation of real-world assets (RWA) are transforming the foundations of global finance. Stablecoins act as a bridge between traditional currencies and blockchain ecosystems, enabling stable, fast, and transparent transactions within DeFi and cross-border payment systems. Meanwhile, RWA tokenisation is digitising tangible assets like real estate, bonds, and commodities, unlocking liquidity and fractional ownership for investors worldwide. However, these innovations bring regulatory and systemic challenges — from stablecoin governance and reserve transparency to cross-jurisdictional compliance in tokenised markets. Current research, including studies on arXiv, highlights the need for resilient, auditable, and decentralised models to ensure market integrity. Together, stablecoins and RWA tokenisation represent the backbone of a new, programmable financial era — merging stability with inclusivity, and traditional finance with blockchain efficiency.
